Our Journey Unfolded

I discovered my passion for both fashion and teaching early on, which led me to start the Skills Empowerment Training Centre, now called SOF. I began sewing at 9, making clothes for friends and finding even greater joy in teaching them how to sew. Growing up in my dad’s leather factory, I learned the basics until he lost his eyesight. When it became harder to find a mentor like my dad, I enrolled in fashion school to improve my skills.

The techniques we teach are based on over 30 years of experience. Accurate pattern making and construction are essential for good design, and I am dedicated to ensuring my students master these core skills. Each lesson provides them with practical knowledge and craftsmanship they can rely on in the industry.

As the proverb says, “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.” I aim to make a lasting impact by equipping students with the skills to create their own opportunities, not just in design but for their futures. Through SOF, I hope to inspire self-sufficiency and success.
